MY STORY
1997-2002-…
The Beginning…
Dana began her career in 1997, earning her Child and Youth Work diploma from Mohawk College in 1999.
She started out in group homes and youth detention, later obtaining her degree from McMaster University in 2002.
For the next 14 years, Dana flourished in child welfare, assuming various roles focused on child protection, family engagement, and navigating the family court system. Concurrently, she delved into addiction counselling, serving as a counsellor at a local methadone clinic.
2018
Facilitating Healing Journeys
In 2018, Dana earned her Social Work degree and established her private practice. Her professional journey has primarily centered around supporting individuals, teens, couples, & high-conflict families.
She has extensive experience in family counselling and specializes in addiction, trauma, sexual abuse, high-conflict situations, NLP, and most recently, grief and loss.
2024
Grief Recovery Method
Dana's commitment to helping others heal led her to become a Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist in March 2024.
She actively engages in educational talks on grief and loss, driven by her passion for facilitating healing journeys.
Outside of work, Dana finds joy in walking her two Chihuahuas,
& has a keen interest in home decor.
